Nancy Scalora

I have been involved in conveyancing in one form or another for almost all of my working life. Initially, as a legal clerk in law firms I undertook a range of roles and responsibilities in supporting lawyers, however there was inevitably some conveyancing aspect to property law or family law or probate. As I gained more experience, I realised that significant changes were afoot in terms of the conveyancing process and I consciously committed to working specifically in conveyancing and have done so for over the last ten years or so. I have a Diploma in Conveyancing Services.

Changes in technology have had a significant effect on the process of conveyancing. Whilst some changes have been beneficial to all parties there are other aspects that require a keen eye and careful attention. Having had the experience of the earlier ‘hand-on’ approach to conveyancing and being aware of the potential pitfalls of the new technological approach, I am keenly aware of the importance of paying attention to all aspects of the current system. To put it bluntly, whilst there are many advantages to a process that is undertaken by a keyboard stroke, the press of the wrong key may result in an extremely complicated and erroneous outcome!

Property transactions can be many and varied but the one thread that winds its way through almost all transactions is concern, particularly by purchasers that something will affect the outcome! That is an understandable concern and one that I am always conscious of addressing to ensure that the process is as stress free as possible.

Conveyancing has become a critically important niche role in the provision of legal services, and I am pleased to say that the experience I have developed over many years has equipped me to provide the skills and knowledge to ensure that the conveyancing experience provided by clients of the firm is supportive and stress free.
