Gavan Black

After completing my secondary education at Xavier College in 1960, I proceeded to the University of Melbourne where I obtained degrees of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws.

I commenced legal practice in Williamstown on 1 February 1969 and have practised there for over 50 years, to the present time.

Over the years, although I have been involved in most areas of law, I have had a specific interest in Property Law, Wills Probate and Deceased Estates, and was an Accredited Specialist in Family Law for over 20 years.

For the past number of years, I have worked almost exclusively in Wills Probate and Deceased Estates, including acting for clients who wish to challenge a Will on the one hand, or for Executors who wish to defend such claims; on the other hand.

Since 2017 when Anthony took over the practice I have continued on as a Consultant to the firm.
