Anthony completed his secondary education at Xavier College in 1990.
Anthony obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1996 and was admitted to practise in November 1997.
Anthony joined the firm as a law graduate in 1997 and had the benefit of learning all aspects of the law from some very competent lawyers, including his father Gavan. He was with the firm for nearly twenty years before establishing Anthony G Black Lawyer Pty Ltd in 2016. He later incorporated Gavan J. Black Lawyers and Consultants when his father retired as a sole practitioner.
The firm, which Gavan started in February 1969, has been providing legal services to the community for well over fifty years.
Anthony is proud to say that his firm has a strong history of providing a caring and compassionate environment for all clients.
The focus of the firm’s work has changed over the years and we now focus primarily on Family Law, Probate and Deceased Estates, Wills and Powers of Attorney and Conveyancing.
The history behind the firm is that of a strong family firm which has provided over five generations of legal services to the local community.
That is a legacy that Anthony takes very seriously, and one that motivates him to ensure that the firm remains committed to providing the highest quality legal services and support to the Western Suburbs.
Anthony’s approach to the provision of legal services is that in meeting the needs of clients, his firm are conscious of the fact that many clients are often seeking legal support at a time of distress and anxiety.
Outside of the office, Anthony is a passionate Aussie Rules fan and was a member of the 1988 Peter W. Crimmins Squad with the Hawthorn Football Club and was an Under 19’s premiership player with the Old Xavierians in 1992.
